10.4 PROTECTION FROM FALLING OBJECTS

Material placement: 10ft minimum from building edges, height of stacking, etc.

• Material cannot be located closer than 10 feet from building edge.

• Material shall not be placed within 6 feet of any hoistway (e.g., elevator shaft) or inside (interior) floor opening

• No material within 10 feet of an exterior edge where the toe board does NOT extend above the top of the material stored.

• All materials stored in tiers shall be stacked, racked, blocked, interlocked, or otherwise secured to prevent sliding, falling or collapse.

• Bricks can not be stacked higher than 7 feet.

• Concrete blocks/masonry units (CMU) must be tapered back one-half block per tier above the 6-foot level
