All trenches and/or excavations that the public and/or the building occupants could reasonably be exposed to regardless of depth shall be demarcated with a solid hard barricade or a chain-link fence that is so constructed as to prevent the public and/or building occupants from falling into the trench/excavation. Fences shall be at least 2-feet away from the edge of the excavation.
